09/09/11: Labor Day Family Camp
Success
The third annual LDFC wrapped up with
a touching service at the campfire circle. This year saw
numbers increase again and so far there's been lots of
positive feedback in the evaluations we've received. Thank
you to families and friends old and new for a wonderful
weekend! |
08/26/11: Summer Camp 2011 Photo
Gallery part a and b are live!
If a picture were literally
worth a thousand words, the summer 2011 gallery would be
worth 87,000 words (11,000 more than the first Harry Potter
book!). But actually there are 87 pictures of smiling, horse
riding, arts and crafting and generally having a blast-ing
campers up now, click "Photo Gallery" on the navigation bar! |
08/24/11: I'll make me some new friends,
and some I'll leave behind..
Assistant Director Chelsea
Hendrikx is moving to
Portland at the end of September, which means this was her last summer camp with us (at least
for the near future!). She will be greatly missed by
everyone at camp and we hope you will join us in saying
thank you and good luck in all that you do Chels! (You can
email her:
chelsea@huston.org) |
08/23/11: Summer Camp 2011 is officially
wrapped up.
Thank you to everyone who was
involved; nurses, chaplains, staff, parents, and CAMPERS!
The summer was a blast and saw the continued success of our
traditional Huston camp program, as well as the growth of
the horse camp, Missoula Children's Theater camp, and mini
camp programs.

08/22/11: It
has to start somewhere, it has to start sometime.
What better place than here, what better time
than now!
An archive is a fun idea - it
provides those who are interested enough, with an
opportunity to look back. Whether it's looking back to say
"Hey I remember that!", or just out of curiosity, some of us
love content, but huston.org would become totally cluttered
were the homepage to display further into the past and/or
future. I wish this had been started sooner, I'm one of
those people who would read almost every entry dating right
back to the beginning. And if you would like to know more
about what's happened at Huston prior to Monday August 22nd
2011, the 2nd edition of "The History of Camp Huston and the
Huston Conference Center" by Anne L. Payne is available from
Camp Huston. Alex F |
